So I always search Pintrest and find these awesome quotes and pictures. Here are some of my recent discoveries and my views on them.
1. “I am blown away that me God, who could do all of this by Himself, would choose to let me be a part of it.”
I am always blown away by how beautiful the world we live in. It is beautiful…and I am blessed to have adventures and discover new favorite places of mine.
2. “Don’t dwell on the past. Your history can’t be erased, bout your future has yet to be written. Make the most of what’s going to happen instead of worrying about what you can’t change. Don’t waste your time being sad, because you’re wasting away moments in which you could be happy.”
This is something I’ve recently been slapped in the face with. This is also easier said than done. Essentially I see this as a reminder to take things as they come and to live in the moment. A positive mental attitude is also very important (PMA opposite of PMS haha).
This is also a way of life–to focus on the important things. Now this is different for everyone, but we all have a list of priorities, put those first. After doing so, you’ll realize if those should be ranked the way you have them.
3. “Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.”
This goes along with the previous mantra. Sure it is good to have a good paying job, or a job that you enjoy, but do not let it take over your life. Whether you love your job or
absolutely despise it, there are greater things than your occupation.
4. “Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different…” ~C. S. Lewis
This phenomena is absolutely astounding to me because it happens to me all the time. In the present, we do not see where our lives are going, but when you take a step back and see where you’ve been, you see a great journey. Some may call this hindsight, “recognition of the realities, possibilities, or requirements of a situation, event, decision etc., after its occurrence.” Others call it reflexivity, “able to reflect; reflective.” Whatever you call it, it is a great sight to behold, your own journey, the trail behind you, the path which brought you to where you are. I hope that no matter what path you are on, it will lead you to a beautiful view. Also remember, when everything feels like an uphill struggle, just think of the view from the top (P.M.A.).
I really don’t think this need explanation. In my life, I am working to put this into practice. It isn’t easy and it is frightening and scary, but that means you are living outside of your comfort zone. As Bear Grylls is quoted saying, “The thing about a ‘comfort zone’ is that it sounds, well too comfortable. I call it a comfort pit, because a pit is somewhere you want to get out of as fast as possible.”
When was the last time you did something for the first time?
